Three Honorees to be Inducted into MFJ Motorcycle Sports Hall of Fame in 2025!

The Motorcycle Federation of Japan (MFJ) has announced the three inductees into the MFJ Motorcycle Sports Hall of Fame for the year 2025. The MFJ Hall of Fame recognizes riders and others who have made outstanding achievements in the history of Japanese motorcycle sports for future generations.

MFJ Motorcycle Sports Hall of Fame Awardees for 2025

The MFJ Motorcycle Sports Hall of Fame inductees for 2025 are Mr. Akiyasu Motohashi, Mr. Yoshimi Katayama, and Mr. Morio Sumiya in the category of distinguished service. The award ceremony will be held on December 20, 2025 at the MFJ MOTO AWARDS 2025 to be held at Tokyo Port City Takeshiba.

Reasons for selection ( MFJ official comment)

The content and development stage of road racing in Japan have differed greatly from the early days of the sport in the 1960s to the international level in the 1990s. In this selection process, we have chosen as the subject of evaluation the achievements of those who were active in the early days of road racing in Japan and laid the foundation for the popularization and development of road racing in Japan. In particular, the contributions of Akiyasu Motohashi and Yoshimi Katayama (late) and Morio Sumiya (late) to the development of road racing competition in Japan deserve special mention and are hereby honored.
