MotoGP rider Pedro Acosta has been officially announced to join the Ducati Lenovo Team starting from the 2027 season. The pairing with seven-time world champion Marc Marquez will be realized, and expectations are high for Acosta as a young talent who will carry Ducati's future.

Young Talent in MotoGP Moves to Ducati's Factory Team

Pedro Acosta has shown remarkable growth, winning titles in Moto3 and Moto2 in just three years since his world championship debut. In his 2024 MotoGP debut season, he was named Rookie of the Year, and in 2025, he achieved 4th place in the overall standings and a total of 13 podium finishes, demonstrating his skills in the premier class.

Acosta has previously engaged in fierce battles with Marc Marquez since his debut. From 2027, he will embark on a new challenge, wearing the same colors as his former rival Marquez and sharing the same garage as a teammate.

Ducati Management Discusses Expectations and Strategy for Acosta

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, praised Acosta's signing, stating, "He is one of the most promising young riders who has shown astonishing technical and competitive growth in a very short period." Luigi Dall'Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, emphasized that Acosta is the ideal candidate to bring speed and youth to the development project of the Desmosedici GP.

The team plans to maximize Acosta's talent and aims for further performance improvements with a strong lineup alongside Marquez. This contract, spanning two years until 2028, clearly demonstrates Ducati's ambition for the future.
