[New Motorcycle Model] Yamaha to Launch Business EV "GEAREV" and "NEWS GEAREV" on July 17th! Equipped with Two Batteries for 100km Range!

Yamaha Motor Sales will launch the "GEAREV" (Gear Rev), an electric scooter in the moped class suitable for delivery services, and the "NEWS GEAREV" (News Gear Rev) for newspaper delivery on July 17th. Featuring a removable battery, it achieves a cruising range of 100km on a single charge.

High Running Performance and Convenience Meet the Needs of Business Sites

"GEAREV" and "NEWS GEAREV" adopt a 96V EV system that incorporates two Honda Mobile Power Pack e: units. The motor characteristics, which deliver strong torque from low RPMs, ensure smooth starts and climbing performance even when carrying cargo.

A "reverse assist function" is also included to aid maneuverability in tight spaces, reducing the burden of parking and working on slopes. The batteries are located on the left and right under the seat and can be removed with a single handlebar operation. Charging with a charger using a household external power source takes approximately 6 hours.

Furthermore, these models, introduced as part of the company's efforts to achieve environmental goals, are eligible for national CEV subsidies. While it is possible to purchase the vehicle body alone, a contract with the battery sharing service "Gachaco" is required in that case.

Equipment and Design Optimized for Business Use

The vehicle is equipped as standard with a front-rear linked braking system, essential for business use, and an accessory socket for convenient charging of smartphones and other devices. The highly visible meter panel displays battery level, reverse indicator, and other information, allowing for intuitive understanding of the vehicle's status during operation.

The color scheme is based on a clean white, accented with cyan, the common accent color for Yamaha's EV series, in the graphics. The "NEWS GEAREV" for newspaper delivery comes with additional equipment, including a dedicated large front basket, rear carrier, knuckle visor, and foot brake.

The meter panel displays various information clearly.
