Suzuki will launch the new crossover model "SV-7GX" on October 13, 2026. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 1.177 million yen for the three graphic specifications and 1.133 million yen for the Brilliant White solid color specification (both including 10% consumption tax).
It inherits the concept and design of the high-end model "GSX-S1000GX", combining a 645cc V-twin engine with the electronic control system "S.I.R.S.", while keeping the price at almost half of the GSX-S1000GX (2.112 million yen).

Prices start from 1.133 million yen. Approximately 980,000 yen cheaper than the high-end GSX-S1000GX
The most noteworthy aspect of this domestic release is the price. The SV-7GX will be available in two versions: 1.177 million yen (Brilliant White/Triton Blue Metallic, Pearl Matte Greige, Glass Sparkle Black) and 1.133 million yen (Brilliant White). The GSX-S1000GX, its bigger sibling with the same "GX" name, costs 2.112 million yen, making the white solid color specification 979,000 yen cheaper, with the price remaining at about 54%.
The previous SV650, which was equipped with the SV-7GX's V-twin, was priced at 836,000 yen, the V-Strom 650 at 990,000 yen, and the V-Strom 650XT at 1.034 million yen (prices at the time of its reported discontinuation in 2025). Compared to the SV650, there is an increase of 297,000 yen, but for that difference, electronic throttle, 3-mode drive mode selector, traction control, bi-directional quick shifter, 3-stage adjustable screen, and rear carrier are included as standard. The difference from the V-Strom 650XT is 99,000 yen.
The difference between the two prices is 44,000 yen, and based on the specifications, the engine and chassis specifications are the same, with the only difference being the body color. As far as can be seen in the images, the white solid color specification has a more subdued cowl graphic and black wheels. The three-color specifications are combined with colored wheels (blue for BQJ/YVB, red for Q2A).
Pre-released in Europe and North America. Domestic price is relatively low when converted from exchange rates
The SV-7GX was unveiled to the world at EICMA in November 2025 and made its domestic debut at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in March 2026. Sales have already begun overseas, with the white solid color specification priced at 6,999 pounds and the three-color specification at 7,399 pounds in the UK. In North America, prices start from $8,599, and in the Netherlands, from 9,499 euros, with an additional charge of 300 euros for optional colors. At the time of our previous report, the converted prices were approximately 1.4 million yen in the UK and 1.37 million yen in North America.
While direct comparison is not possible due to differences in tax systems and exchange rates, the domestic price of 1.133 million yen is at a relatively low level compared to the converted European and North American prices. The pricing strategy of offering two options, a white solid color and a three-color specification, with a small price difference, is also the same as in the UK and the Netherlands. The annual sales target for Japan is 840 units.
A crossover inheriting the GSX-S1000GX, with a refined 645cc V-twin
The SV-7GX is a crossover model that fuses the sportiness of a street model with the comfort of an adventure model. The domestic specification, like the European version, adopts a steel trellis frame and a slim, compact V-twin engine. Combined with a seat that reduces fatigue and provides good ground reach, the seat height is 795mm. It balances long-distance touring comfort with ease of handling and peace of mind in urban environments.
The engine is a P511 type 645cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke V-twin DOHC 4-valve, producing a maximum output of 54kW (73PS) at 8500rpm and a maximum torque of 64N・m (6.5kgf・m) at 6800rpm. This is a stable unit that has been produced in over 500,000 units since the first SV650 in 1999, but it has been updated in various parts to comply with EURO5+ regulations. Fuel economy is 24.6km/L in WMTC mode, and it also supports E10 gasoline.
The electronic control system "S.I.R.S. (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System)" supports riding with features such as the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), which allows selection of engine output characteristics from three modes, the Suzuki Traction Control System, and the bi-directional quick shift system.
Improved practicality with a 17L tank and compact projector headlights
It features compact projector headlights that combine brightness with wide illumination. The fuel tank capacity has been increased from 14L on the SV650 to 17L, extending the cruising range. The meter is a 4.2-inch color TFT LCD, which can display turn-by-turn navigation when linked with a smartphone.
