Dominating Top 3 in Supersport, Superbike Also Grabs Podium Finish
From September 26-27, 2026, the final round of the "2026 Quad Lock MotoAmerica Superbike Championship" took place at New Jersey Motorsports Park. In the Supersport Championship, Darryn Binder (Celtic/Economy Lube + Tire/Warhorse), who had already secured the championship title, finished 4th in Race 1, which was won by Josh Hayes (Yamaha). In the subsequent Race 2, he engaged in a fierce battle with his season rival Josh Herrin, narrowly winning by a margin of 0.137 seconds.
With this result, Binder secured the rookie championship with 406 points. Josh Herrin finished second in the rankings with 328 points, and Kayla Yaakov took third with 249 points, marking the first time Ducati's Panigale V2 swept the top 3 positions in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Yaakov, who finished third, is also the first female rider to achieve a top 3 finish in the championship.
Meanwhile, in the Superbike Championship, Cameron Beaubier and Benjamin Smith competed for the Warhorse HSBK Ducati FLo4Law team. In Race 1, which saw two red flags and three restarts due to heavy rain, Beaubier secured second place behind Bobby Fong. His teammate Smith also finished third, marking his first-ever podium in the Superbike class.
However, in Race 2, both Beaubier and Smith retired due to issues: Beaubier struggled with a lack of rear tire grip, and Smith experienced an engine problem. Furthermore, Race 3, scheduled for Sunday, was canceled due to persistent puddles on the track from the inclement weather. Given that the championship standings were largely decided, the team opted not to participate. In the final rankings, Beaubier placed 11th with 105 points, and Smith finished 12th with 97 points.

Smith, who finished third in Race 1, reflected on his first Superbike podium as a significant step in his career. Regarding the engine trouble in Race 2 and the withdrawal from Race 3, he admitted his desire to race but respected the team's judgment. He expressed gratitude to the team and Ducati North America for his pole position and podium finish in his debut season.
Binder, the winner of the final round of the Supersport Championship, looked back on a long Sunday waiting for the weather to improve and expressed his joy at being able to compete in Race 2. He described his victory after a fierce battle with Josh Herrin as "the cherry on top" to a successful season. Finally, he conveyed his deep gratitude to his team and personal sponsors.
