Corporate Building and Quality Assurance Center] Two new buildings to be constructed in Yamaha Motor's headquarters area

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that it has decided to construct a new building in the area of its headquarters in Iwata City, Shizuoka Prefecture, with construction scheduled to begin in 2026. The two new buildings to be constructed are the "Corporate Building (tentative name)" and the "Quality Assurance Center," both of which are scheduled to be completed in 2028.

Reasons for the construction of the new building

For 54 years since relocating its head office functions to Iwata, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has continued to move forward as an "emotion-creating company" with Iwata at the center of its manufacturing operations under the corporate objective of "providing people around the world with new excitement and a better quality of life.However, the current company building has become outdated and faces issues such as lack of space and dispersion of functions, leading to the decision to construct a new building to solve these problems.The new building will consolidate the functional divisions of the head office area to improve operational efficiency and enhance functions. The office environment is designed to promote communication across teams and divisions to accommodate the flexible working style that has taken root after the Corona disaster, where employees can work both at home and in the office.

Corporate Building (tentative name)

The "Corporate Building (tentative name)" is scheduled to be constructed as the core center for corporate functions in the head office area, with eight floors above ground and a total floor area of 27,524m².The office concept is "Waku Work!", aiming for "Flow" (flow of people), "Open" (communication across divisions), and "Wellness" (healthy workplaces both mentally and physically), and creating a workplace that fosters "Waku Work! The company aims to create a workplace that fosters "Waku Work!In terms of disaster prevention measures, the company aims to both reduce operating costs and environmental impact by adopting a seismic isolation structure to strengthen business continuity and designing the building to maximize energy efficiency.

Quality Assurance Center

The "Quality Assurance Center" is planned to be constructed as the core base for quality assurance functions in the headquarters area, with six floors above ground and a total floor area of 11,444m².The purpose is to upgrade and consolidate functional departments and facilities related to quality assurance, which are currently dispersed among seven buildings, and to promote activities to provide high-quality products and services more firmly, in addition to reliable compliance with regulations, as the core base for quality assurance functions in each business.In addition, the consolidation of offices will not only improve operational efficiency and strengthen collaboration, but will also aim to further strengthen human resource development and educational activities related to quality assurance by increasing the sharing of quality-related information and knowledge.
