AMERICAN DREAM's Z900RS

American Dream, known for offering distinctive parts such as the Café Racer Cowl Kit and Neo Short Exhaust for the Z900RS, has expanded its lineup. At the Osaka Motorcycle Show in Spring 2023, they showcased a new demo bike. This is that bike. The highlight is the "Z900RS Swingarm Black Line" at the rear.

"The aim is to enhance lightness, rigidity, and visual appeal, targeting users who enjoy street riding, track events, and winding roads. This product was developed in collaboration with Active, using simulations of the strain and heat buildup that occurs when force is applied. In cases where higher loads are applied, there is also an Active press-forming swingarm available, so users can choose according to their preference," says Mr. Matsuda of American Dream. The front and rear carbon fenders are also new products. The infusion method is used to achieve high strength and light weight. The rear fender not only enhances mud splash prevention but also provides enough room for not only the stock Z900RS 180 tires but also accommodates 200-width tires. The front mounting brackets can be oriented in different directions, allowing room for tire warmers on both the front and rear. Looking at other parts, they actively choose components outside their own, such as the BFF front fork, BFRC-lite rear shock, Showa suspension front and rear, and the Lavorante Sfidare wheels, for their lightweight and appealing design. Mr. Matsuda himself plans to ride this bike to further bring it to completion.

Handle

An American Dream Café Racer Cowl Kit is installed to reduce fatigue at high speeds and during long-distance rides. The steering stem is an Active Convertible Stem Kit, which converts the handlebars to clip-ons. The front master cylinder is a Gale Speed VRC, and the clutch holder has been changed to a Gale Speed Wire Clutch Holder Kit (black) for improved controllability.

Electrical

The fully painted exterior presents a fresh look with the addition of red edge lines. A Kijima NANO Combination Lamp, which also serves as a taillight, is installed next to the license plate holder for the rear turn signal. Although the front turn signals are not yet installed, they are intended to be mirror-integrated or of the ultra-compact LED type.

Engine

The engine/frame is stock, with the addition of an OEM accessory core guard on the radiator and GB Racing's Engineering Plastic Engine Covers on both sides of the engine.

Chassis

The front fork is a Showa BFF combined with an Infusion-processed and clear-finished Z900RS Carbon Front Fender. The front brakes feature Gale Speed Elaborate front 4P radial calipers and Sunstar Premium Racing Discs.

The Z900RS Carbon Rear Fender is also produced using the infusion method with a clear finish. It is compatible with tire warmers (the rear may require modification), which is a noteworthy feature. The rear brake is a Gale Speed Axial Rear Caliper 2-piston + Stock Disc. The exhaust system is equipped with an American Dream Neo Short Exhaust (raised), which has spiral collectors.

The Z900RS Swingarm Black Line with a Cerakote black finish is a collaboration product with Active, offering lightweight, high strength, and improved appearance. The stand hook for the swingarm end is also available as an option. The rear shock is a Showa BFRC-lite, and the wheels are chosen in the size of 3.50-17/6.00-17 from Lavorante Sfidare.
