At the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) Round 10 Italian round held at the Cremona Circuit, Nicolò Bulega was crowned the new champion. Additionally, riders achieved personal bests and first podiums in each class, making it a memorable weekend.
Honda's Dixon Achieves Personal Best of 6th Place
At Round 10, held at the Cremona Circuit, the seventh Italian venue, Aruba.it Racing - Ducati's Nicolò Bulega secured the 2026 championship. However, the spotlight wasn't solely on the championship battle. Riders achieved personal bests and first podiums in each class, making it a memorable weekend.
Honda HRC's Jake Dixon, who missed most of the first half of the season due to a pre-season injury, showed his true form at Cremona. Although he crashed at Turn 10 early in the session during Superpole, dropping to 18th, he fought back in Race 1 to a joint personal best of 9th, matching his performance from a wildcard appearance in 2017. He then finished 9th in Sunday's Superpole Race, earning his first points in that race.
Dixon's momentum continued, and he finished the weekend with a personal best of 6th place. This marks Honda's best result of the season and a strong performance since the Jerez round last year. Overcoming an injury-plagued start to the season, he has gained significant momentum heading into the final rounds.
Farioli Takes First Podium, Freylackers Also Recovers
In the WorldSSP class, Filippo Farioli of VFT Racing made a strong showing aboard the Yamaha YZF-R9. The Italian rider, who achieved top-10 finishes in both races at the previous round in Magny-Cours, secured his first front-row start at Cremona. He impressively took his first podium in Race 1 and proved his capability by finishing 4th in Race 2, joining the front-runners.
In the World Sportbike class, unexpected riders also stood out. Ferre Freylackers of Track & Trades Wixx Racing took 3rd place in Race 2 on his Suzuki GSX-8R, returning to the podium for the first time since Round 2. The team plans to compete in the remaining two rounds with Jeffrey Buis.
Alvaro Fuertes of Deza-Box 77 Racing Team recorded a personal best in Superpole but started 13th due to a penalty for slow riding. Nevertheless, he achieved his second-best result of the season in Race 1, finishing 6th, and then finished 4th in Sunday's race, just 0.149 seconds behind Freylackers. Only two rounds remain in the season.
