Trackhouse MotoGP Team has announced that AiOgura is heading to the venue, aiming for a return at this weekend's Austrian GP. If he receives clearance during Thursday's medical check, it will mark his return to racing since Silverstone.
Return to be decided by Thursday's medical check
Trackhouse MotoGP Team has announced that AiOgura, carrying number 79, is heading to the Red Bull Ring in Austria, aiming for a return at this weekend's Austrian GP.
He is scheduled to undergo the mandatory medical check on Thursday. If he receives clearance from the doctors, it will be the first race back for Ogura, who has missed the last two rounds, since Silverstone.
Aiming for a return from 6th in the rankings after missing races due to a left-hand injury
Ogura injured his left hand during training in Japan last month. He underwent surgery for a fracture near his left thumb and has been away from the paddock, focusing on his recovery, which caused him to miss the last two rounds of the World Championship.
Ahead of the Austrian GP, he currently sits 6th in the championship standings, 71 points behind the leader. We await further news on whether he can successfully return and compete in the race again.
