Retro Tracker "THUNDER-FTS250" Released in Japan for ¥896,500! Thunder Motorcycles' New Street Model Appears

Thunder Motorcycles has started accepting pre-orders for the new street tracker model "THUNDER-FTS250," equipped with a water-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder 249cc engine, from August 25, 2026. The price is ¥896,500 (tax included), with a sales target of 1,000 units per year.

The "THUNDER-FTS250" is a newly designed street tracker model with the development concept of a lightweight urban bike. The FTS in the model name stands for "Fashion & Flat Track Street," and the company pursued a body that is easy to handle regardless of gender or generation. It features a chassis structure combining a robust chromoly frame and an aluminum swingarm, achieving a vehicle weight of 127kg.

The power unit is a water-cooled 4-stroke SOHC single-cylinder 249cc engine with electronic fuel injection. It delivers a maximum output of 21.5kW/9500rpm and a maximum torque of 22.5Nm/7200rpm, with settings focused on torque performance in the low to mid-range and ease of handling in urban areas. The transmission is a 6-speed return type, and a starter motor is standard despite its simple configuration.

The suspension is equipped with fat 18-inch tires (front 120/80-18, rear 130/80-18) as standard, which are also suitable for serious dirt riding. The brakes feature large 260mm front and 220mm rear discs, with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) on both front and rear. The company explained that by combining a lightweight body with modern electronic controls, they aimed for lively and easy-to-handle riding performance.

The manufacturer's suggested retail price is ¥815,000 (¥896,500 including 10% tax), and reservations will be accepted at Thunder Motorcycles Japan dealerships nationwide. The annual sales plan for Japan is 1,000 units. The model is available in two color variations.

Red

Black

A chic color scheme based on black. It is finished with a styling that blends into urban landscapes and street fashion.

Yuji Noro, the brand representative, commented that this model reconstructs the passion of the era when street fashion and flat track racing were closely linked and created a major movement, adapting it to modern cities, fashion, and sensibilities.
