Kawasaki Motor Indonesia has announced the new 2027 model "KLX150 XPL" as a new addition to its "KLX150" series of dual-purpose motorcycles.Built on a lightweight and compact 144cc chassis, this highly anticipated model comes standard with round LED headlights and a large windshield, positioning it squarely within the “adventure” segment that has been gaining global momentum in recent years.

Key Features of the KLX150 XPL

The "KLX150 XPL" is a dual-purpose model that balances a rugged design intended for off-road riding with practicality for everyday use.While based on the KLX’s design—which stirs the spirit of adventure—it features a round headlight with user-friendly LED lighting and a high windscreen that offers excellent wind protection. This ensures visibility on rough terrain while reducing wind pressure on the rider, making it a small-displacement adventure bike capable of handling long-distance rides.

Powerful Engine and Tough Chassis

The power unit is a water-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder 144cc engine. It delivers a maximum output of 8.6 kW (12 PS) at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque of 11.3 Nm (1.2 kgfm) at 6,500 rpm.It features a carburetor and supports both electric and kick starting. The transmission is a 5-speed return-type.

The suspension features 35mm inverted forks at the front and a single shock with a Unitrack system at the rear. With ample wheel travel—185mm at the front and 192mm at the rear—it delivers stable handling even on rough terrain.Petal-type disc brakes are used on both the front and rear, delivering reliable stopping power. Its light dry weight of 115 kg also contributes to its maneuverability off-road.

Currently, sales are limited to Indonesia, with a price of 44,800,000 rupiah (approximately 450,000 yen) in the Jakarta area. While this mini-adventure bike seems likely to be in high demand in Japan as well, its carburetor-equipped nature makes a direct introduction unlikely.
