Despite the fact that it was held in the middle of winter, about 180 motorcycles gathered at the venue. From single-cylinder to six-cylinder, custom to stock, old cars and scooters, a wide variety of bikes and people gathered in a quiet corner of the market. Why did they gather at the market on a midwinter morning?

The venue was the Daitokyo General Wholesale Center, commonly known as Fuchu Market. The market was closed on Sunday. In a quieter-than-usual corner of the market, motorcycles gathered one after another. There were no clear rules for participating vehicles. The engine types varied from single-cylinder to two-cylinder and even six-cylinder. Customized and stock bikes, old cars and scooters, all lined up naturally. They differ in genre, year, and displacement. Yet, each of them had their own reasons for heading to the same place at the same time.

There was one underlying theme to this year's Tokyo Morning Meeting. That is, to make the meeting more than just a place to get together and have a good time. To connect motorcyclists with each other. To connect motorcycles and culture. And to connect motorcycles and the community. Beyond that, we want to make the social position of motorcyclists even just a little more positive. By integrating motorcycles into the "everyday place" of the historic market, they can become a part of the city's scenery, rather than a special feature of it. I wanted to create such a scene on this morning.

It was my impression that the event functioned as a "place" where conversations were held and values were exchanged, rather than a place where people came to shop. Double header with the Early Rabbit Meeting!

On the same day, the Early Rabbit Meeting was held from 9:00 a.m. in the same Fuchu Market. About 50 vehicles gathered, centering on the "Rabbit," which symbolizes the early days of domestic scooters. The vehicles were diverse in appearance, ranging from those that still retain a strong practical appearance to those that have been carefully maintained. The morning meeting and the Rabbit meeting were staggered by one hour for safety reasons. As a result, a gentle circulation was created, allowing participants from both to come and go. The fact that these two events, both of different genres and eras, shared the same morning and the same location, clearly revealed the "breadth" of the motorcycle culture. It is 8:00 in the morning in midwinter. About 180 bikes gathered at the Fuchu Market for the morning meeting, and more than 230 bikes including the Rabbit meeting. What was there was not excessive staging or loud voices, but rather a quiet and solid heat generated through the bikes. The bikes blended into the everyday place of the market, and people gathered, exchanged words, and went back to their respective places. This scene seemed to take the potential of the bike meeting a little further. The atmosphere and connections that were created that morning will not disappear as an event. The attempt to connect motorcycles, people, culture, and the community will continue somewhere, in a different form.
