MotoGP Official Charity "Two Wheels for Life" Raises Record €234,000 at British Grand Prix

MotoGP's official charity partner, Two Wheels for Life, achieved a record-breaking €234,000 (approximately ¥42.75 million) in fundraising at the "GP of Champions" event held at Silverstone during the British Grand Prix. All proceeds will be used to support medical transportation in remote areas of Africa.

Record-Breaking €234,000 Raised! The Success of Charity Efforts

Two Wheels for Life, the official charity partner of MotoGP, has announced that it raised a record-breaking €234,000 (approximately ¥42.75 million) at the "GP of Champions" event held at Silverstone Circuit during the British Grand Prix. The funds raised will be used to support transportation for delivering medical services to remote and hard-to-reach areas in Africa, including Gambia, Nigeria, Lesotho, and Malawi.

The event took place from Thursday, August 6th to Sunday, August 9th, offering programs that allowed fans to experience the Grand Prix atmosphere up close. On the first day, Thursday, 750 guests participated in the sold-out "MotoGP Experience Day," gaining access to the paddock and interacting with teams and riders preparing for the weekend's races. A cloakroom service was also provided for spectators arriving by motorcycle to store their helmets and leather suits.

On Friday, a time attack event using the MotoGP simulator was held in the fan zone, with over 150 fans participating by making donations. The fastest time of 1 minute 55.699 seconds was achieved by 16-year-old Kacper Dubanowski, who won the right to stand on the starting grid for Sunday's race. Additionally, high-speed tandem rides on the track were conducted by Ducati test rider Franco Battaini and former Grand Prix racer Fonsi Nieto piloting a Ducati MotoEX2, with 10 fans experiencing this thrill.

Auction Featuring Riders' Memorabilia

A total of €122,000 (approximately ¥2.23 million) was raised during the auctions held on Friday and Saturday. Riders from all MotoGP teams took to the stage to discuss the World Championship battles and offered signed items. The highest bid was for a limited experience at the final Valencia GP (€8,400 = approx. ¥1.53 million), followed by a pair of FIM Awards dinner tickets (€5,800 = approx. ¥1.06 million) and a VR46 team experience program (€5,250 = approx. ¥960,000). Also up for auction were Alex Márquez's signed replica helmet (€4,900 = approx. ¥900,000) and boots (€4,000 = approx. ¥730,000), as well as Barry Sheene's replica leather suit (€3,600 = approx. ¥660,000).

On Sunday, auction winners and guests were invited to experience the Grand Prix up close, with access to the VIP village, paddock, grid, podium, and press conferences for MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 classes. The format has evolved from the previous "Day of Champions," which was held only on Thursdays, to the "GP of Champions," expanded to multiple days from Thursday to Saturday, broadening its scope.
