Seiko Watch is releasing a limited edition model in collaboration with Honda Motor Co., Ltd.'s legendary leisure bike, the Motocompo, from the "Field" series of its casual watch brand "Seiko 5 Sports" on September 5, 2026. It will be a limited edition of 8,000 units worldwide (1,200 units in Japan) and will be priced at 52,800 yen (tax included).
The Motocompo is Completely Reproduced in a Hand-Wound Wristwatch
Seiko Watch will release a limited edition collaboration model from the "Field" series of "Seiko 5 Sports," which boasts high reliability even in outdoor scenes. This model incorporates the design of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.'s leisure bike "Motocompo," which was born in 1981.
The Motocompo is a motorcycle equipped with a 49cc 2-stroke engine in a compact and lightweight body weighing 42kg dry, featuring a foldable handlebar and steps, and a liquid leak prevention mechanism. It proposed a new lifestyle that combined the comfort of a four-wheeled vehicle with the maneuverability of a two-wheeled vehicle, as a trunk bike that could be loaded into the trunk of the simultaneously released compact car "City." It continues to enjoy strong popularity among enthusiasts today.
In this collaboration, the iconic design of the ultra-compact Motocompo has been incorporated into the compact 36.4mm diameter case of the Field series. This model will be a limited edition of 8,000 units worldwide (1,200 units in Japan) and will have a suggested retail price of 52,800 yen (tax included).
The planned release date is Saturday, September 5, 2026, and it will be sold at Seiko 5 Sports authorized dealers and "Honda GO BIKE GEAR."
Details That Will Delight Enthusiasts Are a Must-Have for Owners
The watch dial reproduces the iconic vibrant yellow body and black lines of the Motocompo. The "HONDA" logo is placed on the black line, and a special font inspired by the Motocompo logo is used for the word "AUTOMATIC" at the 6 o'clock position.
Attention to detail is evident throughout. The crown is marked with the word "TURN," inspired by the design of the fuel cock. Furthermore, inspired by the securing strap parts used when carrying the bike, the nylon strap parts are marked with "CARRYING POINT," and the tip of the strap is marked with "INSERTION POINT."
In addition, as a special specification for this limited edition model, the silhouette of the Motocompo, the words "Limited Edition," and the serial number are engraved on the case back. The packaging comes in a special individual box that evokes the image of the original Motocompo shipping cardboard box, making it highly collectible.
The case is made of stainless steel with a black hard coating and is water-resistant to 10 bar. The movement is equipped with the automatic (with manual winding) mechanical caliber "4R36," which has approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
