[Price Revision] Arai to Increase Prices from December 1st. RX-7X to be 85,800 yen, Graphic Models Over 90,000 yen

Arai Helmet has announced that it will revise the suggested retail prices for helmets and related parts from Tuesday, December 1, 2026. All helmets will increase by approximately 8-15%, SRC models with carbon shells by approximately 16-17%, and all related parts by approximately 8-19%.

The flagship RX-7X will increase by 11,000 yen from 74,800 yen (tax included) to 85,800 yen for solid colors, and graphic models will reach the 90,000 yen range at 96,800 yen. This is the third consecutive year of price revisions for Arai, following October 2024 and September 2025.

According to the new price list, the RX-7X will be 85,800 yen for solid colors, and graphic models such as RADICAL, TSUBASA, and various rider replicas will uniformly be 96,800 yen. The RX-7X FIM Racing #2 will be revised from 81,400 yen to 93,500 yen. The largest increase will be for the carbon shell SRC models, with the RX-7X SRC and VZ-RAM SRC solid models increasing by 55,000 yen from 330,000 yen to 385,000 yen. Graphic models, which are limited to made-to-order, will increase from 352,000 yen to 407,000 yen, exceeding 400,000 yen.

Looking at the price list, the increase rate is broadly divided into two categories depending on the model. The RX-7X (approximately 14.7% excluding tax), X-SNC (approximately 14.3%), and the jet helmets VZ-RAM (approximately 13.6%) and VZ-RAM PLUS (approximately 14.5%) are all around 14%. On the other hand, the ASTRO-GX (approximately 8.6%), RAPIDE-NEO (approximately 8.9%), TOUR-CROSS V (approximately 9.2%), CLASSIC AIR (approximately 9.3%), and CLASSIC MOD (approximately 8.1%) are in the 8-9% range, with the TX-STRADA also remaining around 10.2%.

This difference also changes the price order between models. The revised X-SNC solid will be 79,200 yen, exceeding the current RX-7X solid (74,800 yen). The jet helmet VZ-RAM will be 73,700 yen, higher than the full-face TX-STRADA (71,500 yen).

Shields to Increase by Approximately 14-16%, Interior Pads by Approximately 10%

Among parts, the increase rate for shields is larger than for interior components. The VAS-V MV shield, common to RX-7X and X-SNC, will increase from 5,000 yen (excluding tax) to 5,800 yen (6,380 yen including tax), and the VAS-Z Blow Shield for VZ-RAM will increase from 5,250 yen to 6,000 yen (6,600 yen including tax), both representing an increase of approximately 14-16%. On the other hand, the RX-7X EP System Pad will increase from 5,200 yen to 5,700 yen (6,270 yen including tax), about a 10% increase.

Arai cites the soaring price of crude oil and exchange rate fluctuations as reasons for the revision, leading to increased prices for raw materials including naphtha and other petroleum-related products. Additionally, manufacturing and logistics costs have risen due to labor shortages and wage increases. While the company has made efforts to absorb these cost increases, the prolonged high costs have made it difficult to absorb them solely through corporate efforts. Arai states that they will continue to pursue "Arai's unique value" without changing their manufacturing philosophy of handcrafting each product.

Arai's price increases follow those in October 2024 (helmets approximately 4-11%) and September 2025 (up to 5,000 yen). SHOEI, the other major domestic manufacturer, also recently increased helmet prices by 3,000 to 8,000 yen (excluding tax) on October 1, 2026. However, SHOEI's revision also involved a transition to a new system that included the installation fee for the "P.F.S." interior adjustment service, which was previously a separate charge, into the main product price. Arai's current revision involves an increase of 3,000 yen (CLASSIC MOD) to 11,000 yen (RX-7X graphic models, etc.) excluding tax for standard models.

The current suggested retail prices will be available until November 30th.
